Enrollment Eligibility


ETMA (East Tennessee Military Association) Federal Credit Union was chartered by the National Credit Union Administration on June 21, 1956, at McGhee Tyson Airbase.

ETMA Federal Credit Union is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of promoting thrift and for providing financial services.  It serves as a source of credit offered at a reasonable rate of interest.  The credit union officers, directors, and committee persons serve without pay.  The salaried staff of your credit union is headed by the Manager who is directly responsible to the Board of Directors for the operation of the credit union.  You can become a member:

  • If you are a federal employee or military person working in Knox or Blount County.
  • If you are a member or employee of the Tennessee National Guard (Army or Air).
  • If you are a retired pensioner or annuitant from the above groups.
  • If you are related to any member of the above groups who is a member of ETMA Federal Credit Union.
  • Local VFW and American Legion Members


The charter provides that a member of ETMA Federal Credit Union is always a member as long as membership is maintained by keeping at least five ($5.00) on deposit.  This applies even if you change employment.
