Opening an account online is simple and secure.

There are many ways to be eligible for membership at Tremont Credit Union. Membership is open to all who live, work or worship in Suffolk County, Massachusetts and all who live or work in Norfolk County and Middlesex County in Massachusetts.

In addition to serving the community we pride ourselves on serving many Select Employer Groups throughout Massachusetts. For a complete list of Select Employer Groups and Community Association Groups please select the Employer Benefit option in the field of membership qualification.

Please note all family members of existing members are also welcome to apply for membership.

TCU's membership application requires the validation of your information and identity through two forms of identification.

We require one (1) copy of the following primary documents, in addition to one (1) copy of a secondary identification document. If you are not currently residing in the same address listed on your government-issued identification, we require proof of address for your current residence. Please note that if you wish to have a joint member on the account they must also supply two forms of identification with the membership application.

Please provide a copy of one (1) of the following government-issued forms of identification with your membership application:

  • Driver's license with a photograph
  • State issued identification card
  • US passport or alien registration card

Plus a copy of any one (1) of these secondary validation requirements:

  • College photo identification card
  • Major credit card
  • Employer identification
  • Pay stub
  • A current utility bill from current place of residence

Opening a Primary Savings account establishes your Membership at Tremont Credit Union.  A minimum balance of $30.00 in your savings account is required to avoid a $5.00 monthly service charge. Once a member always a member.

The application process will time out after several minutes of inactivity.  We strongly suggest that, after entering your personal information, you click the "Save incomplete application" prompt at the right side of the page to avoid losing the information you have entered.  This will allow you to reopen the application for processing at a later time if necessary.
